Welcome to Peacock Ridge Farm!
I truly want you to feel welcome, blessed and valued while we spend time together. I only wish that you
were here in person, so that we could have a cup of tea and take a stroll through the garden together.
Thank you so much for your time and interest as you read through and discover the great recipes, gardening and food
preservation tips on this website. It truly means the world to me. I hope that you enjoy these recipes and blog posts as much as
I have enjoyed creating them.
I was inspired to embark on this journey as my sweet husband and I decided that we needed to make some
changes to our lifestyle, our exercise routine and what we were eating. As we age, we want to make sure
that we take the very best care of ourselves as possible. We have chosen to cut out refined carbs, breads,
rice, cereal, cakes, cookies, grains, legumes and potatoes. We now eat lots of protein, fresh fruits and
vegetables. Our bodies are really showing these positive changes and yours will, too. I’ve tried to make the
recipes as tasty and interesting as possible. Let’s face it, it’s not always much fun eating clean. I have
included some yummy treats, too, just for fun!
Please remember that these are choices that we’ve made for us, I’m not an expert on nutrition, nor am I
trying to push a way of eating on you that doesn’t fit into your lifestyle. I have partnered with nutritionists
and have educated myself on what is in processed foods and how food affects our bodies. I truly believe that
the best quality food that you can get is to grow your own food as much as possible, or to purchase from your
local farm or farmers market. Preserving your own food is the only way that you can control what goes into
your food and you can have nutrient dense, healthy food all year round. I’ve learned a lot and I am excited to share
it with you.
My cookbook, “Clean Eating at Peacock Ridge Farm” is available, both in a paperback and in an ebook
version on Amazon and on this site.
Again, thank you so much for your interest and support.
Blessings to you,
Who is Renae Frey?
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 30 years. We have two kids and two grand babies. We
live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in the foothills of the Cascade mountain range. My sweet husband
and I thoroughly love spending time with our family and friends on our farm.
My husband and I lived a high stress executive lifestyle, complete with a lot of travel. I was gaining weight
and feeling the effects of aging, or so I thought. I was exhausted and just didn’t feel good. I needed to
make some drastic changes to my lifestyle. I started reading everything that I could about what to eat and
what not to eat, and how food affects our bodies. The information that I found was astounding! It was the
food that I was eating that was causing the weight gain and making me feel tired. I knew that eating a piece
of fish or grilled chicken and a salad for lunch and dinner for the rest of my life was just not sustainable.
That’s when I had to get creative. I have created recipes that are very much like the comfort foods that I
grew up with. Meals that were very satisfying and that really sticks to the ribs, but using clean ingredients.
I now eat lots of protein, fresh fruits and vegetables.
My passions in life are family, décor, entertaining, gardening, travel, cooking and eating healthy foods and
giving back to the community. My dream is to create a garden and orchard, where kids can come to learn
how to grow, cook and eat healthy foods, then take their knowledge back home to their families. My long-
term goal is to unite local churches and charitable organizations to work together as one. Giving each
member of our community a purpose and worth, while fulfilling the needs of others.
